Corporate History

Atsushi Saitoh is a pioneer of the Venture Capital Industry in Japan.
He was responsible for making JAFCO into the first real venture capital fund which was newly conceived and based on the civil codes. He also contributed to Japan Asia Investment Company as MD, and established CSK Venture Capital.
In 1996, he contributed to the establishment of this company as the Founding Chairman which has as its goal to create an American style, high ROI Venture Capital Company in Japan.

  • In October 1996, SIP Inc was established. It starts with Atsushi Saitoh as Chairman and Chikaysu Ito as President.
  • In June 1997, SIP Global 1, LP, our first fund was established.
  • In January 2000, Atushi Saitoh established the SSM VC Club Fund, an investment limited partnership and SIP took responsibility for its management.
    Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation invested in this limited partnership in June 2000.
  • In June 2000 Atsushi Saitoh became President.
  • In June 2001, the English Name of the Company was changed to Strategic Investment Partners.
  • In July 2004, the SIP investment partnership for knowledge building was established and Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation invested in this investment partnership in March 2005.
  • In June 2005, Kazutaka Fujiwara became Representative Director and President. Atsushi Saitoh became Chairman.
  • In June 2007, Shigeki Saitoh becomes Representative Director and CEO.
  • In July 2007, the General Partner of Digital Convergence Fund was transferred from Japan Digital Convergence Inc to SIP.
  • In June 2008, Shigeki Saitoh becomes President.
